Dr. Jose Murickan
(Director)

Dr. Jose Murickan is the director of NISCORT from 28 August 2014. He did his doctorate in Social Communications from Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, Italy. His areas of specializations are Visual Media and Pastoral Communications. He has been regularly delivering lectures at various institutions across the country and has also coordinated and actively participated in various training programmes and workshops on media. Before joining NISCORT he also worked as the founding director of Nobi Communications, Bangalore for media training. Besides his 12 years of teaching experience he has also written articles in different national magazines. He is also serving as the member of editorial boards of two reputed national magazines namely, The Companion and The Magnet. Besides English and a few other Indian languages he is well versed in German, and Italian.

Dr. Ritu Dubey Tiwari

Dr. Ritu Dubey Tiwari holds a doctorate from Dr. H.S. Gaur University, Sager (M.P). Her other academic qualifications include NET Qualified, Post Graduate Diploma in Advertising & Public Relations, from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar ( Haryana); Master in Mass communication and Journalism (MAMCJ) from Bundelkhand University Jhansi (UP) and Master of Arts (MA) in modern history, from Government Autonomous P.G. Girls College, Devi Ahhilya Bai University, Indore (M.P). Her Area of interest includes Print Journalism, Editing, Script Writing, Advertising and Documentary Filmmaking. Before joining NISCORT, she was an Assistant Professor in School of Journalism and Mass communication, IMS, Noida and Visiting Lecturer in Asian School of Media Studies. She has many documentary films to her credit and her documentary ‘Qutub the Beginning’ was produced for heritage portal of CBSE. Her documentary film ‘Samman’ was awarded Dada Sahib Phalke Purskaar in 2012 in student category

Fr. Jerry Joseph Onampally is the Academic Coordinator at NISCORT. His academic credentials include MA in English, MSc in Psychology and MA CJ (Communication and Journalism) from Mumbai University. His areas of specialization are Print Journalism and Research Methodology. Jerry has presented research papers in national and international Media Conferences and seminars. He is currently pursuing PhD in Mass Communication and Journalism from Mumbai University.

Faculty Profile:

Sr Patricia Michelle Mathias currently holds the post of Registrar at NISCORT. She also teaches subjects ranging from Communication, journalism to Development communication.

Qualifications: Net Qualified, Masters of Science (Communication), B.A (English). She is currently pursuing her PhD from Sharda University, Noida.

Sr Michelle is an avid writer of Children’s Books. She has authored 14 books for children and adults with Pauline Publications. She has contributed to many audio albums during her stint as Manager for Pauline Audio-visuals as a lyricist, composer, photographer and videographer.

Currently, she is a Blogger on Communication studies and her Blog is accessed by students from across the world. She also pursues her Photography hobby by uploading her pictures on Shutter Stock.

Fr. Varaprasad Marneni is Assistant Professor for Media Laws and Ethics. He has completed his Doctoral Studies in Mass Media Communication as well as Canon Law from Leuven Catholic University, Belgium. He has seven years of teaching experience including five years at RCIA (USA), and has also worked as Hollywood Consultant for Religious Biblical movies. He is currently working as the national Secretary to the Office of Social Communications of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India.

Sabu Koshy is Assistant Professor for Audio Visual Communications with profound industry experience in photography and film/documentary production. His academic qualifications include BA in Psychology, BA in Public Administration, M.Sc in Psychology, M.Phil in Psychology and MBA in Journalism and Electronic Media. Sabu has 7 years of industry experience. He has worked with CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) for 2 years as Producer and Content Supervisor, worked on daily shows, which was aired on Star-Plus, Sony TV, DD National, DD Punjabi, Epic TV, Colours Bangla etc. He has also worked on several social developmental documentary films, corporate videos, events and promos, advertisements and publicity videos at length, including the testimonial video diaries of prominent personalities (pioneers in their field) from both government as well corporate sectors. Sabu is also an expert Voice-Over artist and has done several projects for both national and international clients including shows/programs on TV and radio.

Ruchika Mahajan is Assistant Professor for Advertising, Marketing and Management studies. She holds a Masters Degree in Fine Arts (Applied) from Amity University, Noida, Delhi. She is associated with advertising and graphic industry and her area of expertise involves ad campaigns, graphic design, packaging, multimedia, branding, marketing, management, illustration and paintings. She has also worked with Ministry of Adult Education under HRD, for the project ‘Saakshar Bharat’ and designed publicity materials for them.

Sandeep Kathait is Assistant Professor for graphics and animation. He is a graduate from Delhi University in 2005 and completed his diploma in animation and VFX from MAAC in 2007. He has worked as a VFX artist and digital compositor in Mumbai before pursuing post graduation in IT from IMT Ghaziabad. Before joining NISCORT, he taught visual communication at Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics for 7 years. He is Adobe certified trainer since 2009. He has keen interest in visual communications (photography, video production, animation and graphics) and product design and he takes courses for the same on both Undergraduate and Post-graduate levels.

Marydasan John

Marydasan John is Associate Professor for Journalism and is an expert in Editing and lay-out in Print Media. He was 30 years on News Desk of which 24 years were with The Hindu and was also its Senior Assistant Editor. He is also a visiting faculty for Journalism in IIMC, Delhi. He has participated and presented papers in many national conferences and workshops. His book Editing: Rules, Tools and Styles is a handbook for professionals and journalism students.

Jenith Sekar holds a Master’s degree in Audio Visual Communications (MA AVC) from Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism. He is UGC-NET qualified and is currently pursuing his PhD from GD Goenka University, Delhi NCR. Amala T Chacko
(Assistant Professor)

Amala T Chacko holds a Master Degree in Mass Communication from the Central University of Tamil Nadu with specialization in Communication Theories, Health Communication, Development Communication and Research Methodology. She is NET qualified and holds BA Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism and Video Production from the University of Kerala and a Diploma in Web Designing from Arena Animation. She did a two-month project on Rural Communication under National Council of Rural Institute (NCRI) and the Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD). She worked as a reporter in the Daily Bulletin Team of International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) and International Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK).

Amala T Chacko has presented and published papers in various national and international conferences mainly focusing on Development and Health Communication.

Rodrigues Fr Robinson Silvestor has completed his Masters in Journalism from Makhan Lal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication. He holds Bachelor’s Degree in Hindi Literature and a Diploma in Indian Classical Music. Prior to his appointment as Assistant Professor in NISCORT he has served as Chief Editor of Dilli Vaani, the diocesan magazine, Secretary to Archbishop of Delhi and Manager of a School. Fr Robinson has appeared on National News channels several times taking part in debates and discussions on different issues.
