Description: World Students' Day is celebrated on October 15 every year to honor former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's contributions to the field of education especially in the fields of academia and research.
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was India’s 11th President, who served from 2002 to 2007, and was widely referred to as the people’s President besides being credited for India’s civilian space programme and military missile systems.
The day is an occasion to highlight the importance of education and to support the effort to make education available to individuals from all sections of society.
