NISCORT manifests the Catholic Church’s ongoing involvement and commitment in India in the field of communications and the media.
The Catholic Church had started active involvement in the field of mass media in the mid-sixties through international media bodies like SIGNIS
(earlier known as UNDA and OCIC).
The Church in India confidently pursued the development model of communication consonant with the social development envisioned by the post-independent visionaries of India.
Through its active initiatives the Catholic Church was quite successful in promoting media literacy programmes and producing audio/visual materials for
social, moral and spiritual transformation of the society. NISCORT is committed to train morally uplifting and culturally enriching media professionals
for the Indian society.
